About Robin

Robin was born in Victoria, BC on December 18, 1971 to mother Margaret Cox and father Robert ( Bob) March ( deceased).  His arrival was the best thing ever- he was our Christmas baby.

Robin had many siblings - Pamela Vivian, Lisa Ellis, Russell Cox,  Monica March (deceased) Aaron March, Shaun March  (deceased), Brandon Nakagawa, Kristin Cox, Thaddeus Cox and Mimi Nachtrieb.

Over 30 years ago he met Karyn Apps and they brought two beautiful girls into this world - Tessa and Sarah. There is so much of him in both of them – sense of adventure, of exploration, kindness, quick wit, creativity, gentleness, sense of humour… He was so proud of them and the women they have become.

Robin loved his family and get togethers with them. He  loved exploring the region with his daughters and friends and family -he  knew all the hidden spots and loved to share them.

Robin grew up on Chambers Street and went to George Jay, Oaklands and Blanshard Elementary schools,  Central, and Warehouse schools and still has countless friendships from those times.  Back then, he was known as Robin Cox changing his name back to his birth name in his early 20s.

His friends were vital to him and he cherished his long time friends while always making new and lasting friendships. He touched many with his light, his personality, curiosity and that smile. One of the heartbreaks of Robin's life was losing his good friend Justin Plett in late 2019.

Robin worked hard at many jobs.  He had  his own pressure washing business and took extreme pride in this work at Victoria Deck and Current Designs.  He also used his great navigation skills  as a bike courier and delivery driver.  He knew the shortcuts of the city and region like no-one else.

Robin learned new skills easily and was always active  - walking, hiking, biking, swimming, diving and playing sports.  He was a great breakdancer and excelled at team sports. He played volleyball, basketball, soccer and rugby and won the elementary national rugby championship in grade 6.

Robin absolutely loved music seeing as many shows as he could. Some of his favourites were Metallica, Slayer, Megadeath, Anthrax,  Insane Clown Posse, Everlast, Rob Zombie, Audio Slave, Pearl Jam, and Chris Cornell.

He was thrilled that he saw many concerts with his daughters.

Robin also leaves many other loved ones to morn his loss.  Kacey Tiffin, Shawn Tiffin, Layla Tiffin, Halle Tiffin, Danika Ellis, Ron Canning , Gosia Cox, Henryk Cox, Clara Don, Dana Cox, Brittany.  Nola Williams, Melanie Mitchell, Grace Harling, Michael Harling, Cydney Harling, Simone Shori (deceased), Andrew Bell (deceased) Kylie Rasmussen, George and Carol March, Dawn Johnson, Tagen and Talen Marshall.

He grew up in the same house he died in on March 13, 2020 - the way he would have wanted it to be.

A celebration of life will be held in Fernwood on a date yet to be determined.  As soon as physical distancing measures are lifted, we will set a date. It will be a celebration worthy of the man and there will be rock!

Flowers are gratefully declined. If you would like to do something in Robin's memory, try to be kind , be inclusive, and if you can, buy someone coffee, dinner, or groceries, donate or give your time to volunteer local,  create good memories, make positive change and live your best life.
